Streaming and Downlod Information

The Communications Ministry is in the early stages of developing streaming audio and video of our Sunday Morning Worship Services from our web site. We are evaluating the process and would welcome your comments and suggestions so that we can determine if the service is of benefit to our members and guests. Please send your comments to:

MP3 Download:

The MP3 file is a file that can be played on Ipods and most computers have software that will play the files. The advantage of downloading the file is that it resides on your computer and you can play it at any time, copy it on to a CD and give to someone, and when complete delete it off your computer.

The MP3 download file is a large file, between 5 and 6 MB, so if you are on a dial up telphone connection it will tie up your phone for a long time. We suggest that you only download the file if you have a DSL or faster network connection.

When you download the file you will be asked where you want to save it. We suggest that you create a special file folder to hold the sermons. That will make it easier for you to find it later and then delete it when you are done with it and desire to free up disk space.

MP3 Streaming:

The MP3 streaming option allows you to hear the sermon on your computer while downloading it. If your computer presently does not have the software needed, it will ask you if you want to install the software on your computer. It will take several seconds to download the first part of the file to your computer before you hear the sermon. Be patient. The advantage of "streaming" the sermon is that you can hear it almost immediately where as if you download the MP3 file you need to wait until the entire file is downloaded.

VIDEO:

The VIDEO streaming will allow you to view the sermon while it is downloading. If your computer does not presently have the video software, you will be asked if you want to download the necessary software. Don't try to use video streaming if you have a dial up phone connection. The size of the video file is over 200 MB and it won't be practical to try to view it over a dial up. Since the file is very large it might take a minute are so before the video starts to play on your computer. BE PATIENT.
