Bonhomme Church Nursery School has been educating the minds, growing the hearts and embracing the children and families in our community for more than 37 years.
Philosophy
BCNS provides a loving, nurturing Christian environment in which a child can learn and grow at his or her own pace. We believe that children learn best through play and hands-on experiences that will help them grow socially, emotionally, cognitively, physically and spiritually. Our desire is that each child will feel loved, learn and enjoy a positive introduction to the school environment.
Goals
Based on our philosophy, it is the goal of BCNS to:
- Develop a positive self concept
- Strengthen language development
- Develop fine and gross motor skills
- Learn appropriate ways of expressing emotions
- Interact in a positive way with peer groups
- Develop a positive attitude toward school, teachers and learning
- Gain independence
- Develop cognitive skills
- Grow in understanding spiritual truths
Beyond the Classroom
Additional programs have been designed to embrace and nurture each student’s family, as well. We provide many opportunities for families to enjoy, grow and learn in the same environment as their children:
- Family First, an intriguing series of parent-enrichment seminars
- Moms In Touch, a dedicated prayer group that prays for our school and its families twice monthly
- Fall Festival, a family event to celebrate all of the wonders of the Fall bounty
- Seasonal holiday classroom parties, Spring Sing and Art Show, Dad’s Day celebration, Ice Cream Socials and external fellowship outings
- Classroom observations and teacher conferences each semester
Enrollment
BCNS offers enrollment to everyone regardless of race, religion, or national origin. Enrollment for the next school year begins in January.
