The Music Ministry of Bonhomme Presbyterian Church seeks to worship God through the offering of music. The Children's Choirs, Youth Choirs, and Adult Choirs all seek to teach, train, and prepare participants for roles of worship leadership. Our sole aim is to help prompt God's children to communion with him and, in so doing, to experience worship ourselves.

Children's Music
Each Wednesday, beginning at 4:30, we have age-graded music activities for children. The experiences are varied and fun. These groups provide music for a Christmas concert; they also have the privilege of occasionally leading worship.
Chimes and Bells
We have a choir chime group for children in second and third grade, and handbells for fourth and fifth grades. Bells and chimes offer children the opportunity to learn about music from an instrumental point of view. Music reading skills are sharpened, and they also learn how important each person is in the total effort.
Choir
The children learn music which reinforces their growing faith. They learn good singing habits, and they learn about God through the music they sing and other fun activities.

Youth Music
 |
We have handbell and choir groups for youth, too. All youth music groups meet on Sunday afternoon. They perform throughout the year in both traditional services (8:30 and 11:00). Voices of Emmaus
This is the choir for high school youth, grades 9-12. Their music is usually in four parts, with challenging harmonies and rhythms. They prepare music for worship, where they sing about once per month, plus other occasions. They meet each Sunday evening from 5:00 - 6:00 pm in the Choir Room.
Les Cloches
High school youth comprise this handbell ensemble of 4 octaves. They meet each Sunday afternoon at 4:00-5:00 pm in the chapel to prepare music for worship and tour.
Gallilean Choir
This is the choir for all our youth, grades 6-8. They meet each Sunday evening from 6:30 - 7:15 pm in the Choir Room.
Carillonneurs
Carillonneurs, the Middle School Bell Choir, (grades 6-8) rehearses in the Chapel from 7:15 to 8:00 pm every Sunday. |
Adult Music
The Bonhomme Bells (adult handbell ringers) meet on Tuesday mornings. They usually ring in worship on the third Sunday of each month, September through May.
The Chancel Choir (for college age and up) rehearses each Wednesday evening at 7 pm and provides musical leadership in the traditional service, singing alternately in the 8:30 and the 11:00 services from one week to the next.
Instrument Ensemble
We welcome any youth or adults who play orchestral instruments into this group. We meet each Wednesday at 6:00 pm in Room A-4 to learn music for worship. If you play an instrument, come and get in on this great new ministry.
If a member of your family, or a friend enjoys making music,
please encourage them to become a part
of the Music Ministry at Bonhomme! |
