Adopt a Mission:
Community & World Service is looking for members who would “adopt” one of our missionary families overseas. In that role you are asked to maintain quarterly e-mail contact with the missionary family and, once a year, write a short article about their activities for the Pioneer Press and the church web-site. This is a great opportunity for someone who is not able to travel, help with Habitat, etc., but who has a heart for the Lord and His work in spreading the Gospel abroad. If you’d like more information or want to give this a try, please contact Cris Heffernan (636-939-3986) or Sarah Mitchell (314-576-7647).
The Community&Word Service ministry here at Bonhomme has researched each one of the following missions to discover their financial stability and their need for volunteers and other support.
If you or your small group decides to Adopt-a-Mission, you can contact Debbie
Leichenauer in the Church Office or anyone on the commission to learn how you might help.
Each one of these organizations needs more help. Adopt one - individually or as a small group (Matthew 28). Go out and make a difference!

Alpha:
Alpha is a 10 week course covering 15 different sessions on the basics of Christianity giving a practical introduction to the Christian Faith. Alpha is non-denominational and is used in all churches that profess that Jesus is Lord and through Him we are saved. At the present time more than 7300 churches across the country offer the Alpha Course. It is the vision of Alpha to transform our society one person, one church, one community at a time by sharing the Good News of Christ. Each week we share meals, followed by a short video segment and small group discussions. Alpha creates intimate relationships and gives answers to questions to those on the edge of believing as well as clarifying to those who already believe in Christ.
Each year Alpha has a conference that invites church leaders from the Midwest to learn about the Alpha Course and in 2005, the dates are June 2nd and 3rd. As in past years, Bonhomme will serve as the host site for the conference.
